Biggest learning from your career

Always be open to learning new things and push yourself outside of your comfort zone.  You will be amazed on what you are capable of.  Everyone makes mistakes along the journey, so do not take things personal, and only use them to motivate yourself to do better. Over the years, I really have tried to not be so reactive to the needs of others and try and manage chaos by remaining calm and taking things step by step.

One word to describe the last year?

Adaptive: No one could have ever predicted how wild the last two years have been.  Keeping a positive attitude, being flexible, and again maintaining a work-life- balance has been needed more than ever.  Taking care of yourself is a priority and can only make you a more well rounded adaptable human being.

Best advice you gave out about hybrid working?

Definitely create boundaries and get outside/or walk away from your desk throughout the day. I try to get out and walk around the block at least 3x’s day.  It helps me refresh and focus better on the next project. Burnout and mental health has increased since Covid and small tips and tricks on managing mental health goes a long way.

How have you stayed inspired?

Checking in with my team and making work and relationships more personal.  If we were in the office, we would most likely grab lunch together, chat in the kitchen over coffee, and working remotely has changed that culture.  So by doing fun activities with your team and seeing them grow from a business and personal perspective keeps a smile on my face.  I am a mother to a 6 year old boy so often feel like the Team Mom and proud to see everyone’s accomplishments.
