Five restaurants to go to during SXSW

Austin is famous for barbecue food, but there are so many incredible places to eat. The food scene in Austin is perfect for foodies out there!

Here are our top tips for places to check out during the week.

Franklin Barbecue

There is always a line, but trust us, you have to go here. It moves quickly and our best tip is to go on Thursday, before SXSW kicks off or on Tuesday, the last day before you head back to the airport. The doors open at 11am and we recommend getting there by 11.30am for lunch. (It’s only open at lunch times.)

Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden

On Rainey Street, this place has an awesome atmosphere. There are so many beers on tap and different flavors of sausages! If you’re lucky, you’ll see some live music in the beer garden.

Uchi

For a night where you want a nice, sit down dinner, this is one of Austin’s must-eat places. Japanese food at its best and perfect to host clients. We recommend making a reservation. (We also spotted Seth Rogan dining here!)

Food trucks on Rainey Street

Tacos, Venezuelan arepas, barbecue, lobster rolls and much more. This place is a great place to stop by with outdoor seating, music and atmosphere.

Emmer & Rye

On Rainey Street, this is a beautiful restaurant which focuses on seasonal, farmer’s haul. Fresh, local cuisine makes this place a stand-out for a group dinner, especially if you’re treating clients.
