Summarize what you do in one sentence.
I'm currently on the Digital Investment team for the Facebook account working on planning and executing direct partnerships focusing on custom content and high impact formats.
How do you live by Teamwork, one of our core values?
Even though Mindshare is a large global company, they make collaboration really easy and accessible. With such a large portfolio of clients, the odds are that some other team has faced the same challenges you're up against and Mindshare makes it easy to collaborate with teams across the country. For example, we regularly have brainstorming sessions with the Atlanta team, as well as teams in LA, to see how they would approach our client's objectives to come up with innovative ideas.
What is the most interesting thing happening in media right now?
Seeing how different brands responded to the COVID-19 epidemic has been really interesting. It's forcing brands to decide whether or not to join in on tough conversations. A lot of big brands are hesitant to take a stand but with the uncertainty of our current situation, it's been great to see how brands have shifted their company policies, increased philanthropy and how that's translated to their media strategies. You can check out some of our clients' work here, including Facebook.
What's your proudest professional moment?
We recently worked with the Facebook team to donate a large amount of media to UNICEF, to share important information around the Coronavirus. It was great to be a part of making that happen to help share important information to the public.
Who inspires you?
My mom is definitely my biggest inspiration. Her perseverance working for herself while still finding time to travel the world and bartend for fun is really inspirational - she lives her life the way she wants apologetically and I strive to do the same!
What are you known for at work?
Definitely my over the top color-coded to-do lists. I have a system with a key for each color ranked by level of urgency to keep me organized. My team can tell if I was the last person on a shared document!
Best piece of advice you ever received?
"Don't just copy and paste". It might seem so simple but I really try to take that to heart in my daily tasks. I always look for ways to improve or add more to the conversation, rather than simply passing it along. As the media agency, we play middle-man quite a bit so I think being able to add your POV and additional background only makes the conversation move seamlessly for your clients and your partners.
