Meet: Rocio Munoz

Mindshare Unplugged spotlights and interviews #TeamMindshare’s rising talent across the U.S. Everything we do is about Provocation with Purpose. We’re a team that is radically honest – we call this our Authenticity Quotient. We are curious and competitive – that’s our Passion Quotient We embrace teamwork and adaptability – that’s our Emotional Quotient.

This week, we feature Rocio Munoz, Business Intelligence Manager from Chicago.

What have you done at Mindshare that couldn’t have done anywhere else?
Being given the opportunity to experience being a manager to such a talented group of business intelligence Associates and Senior Associates, showing my support and guidance based on my experiences. In a way, I feel like I’ve developed a small work family and we lean on each other through all the good and tough times, but also have fun together. This opportunity at Mindshare has given me a chance to learn and develop new skills while also learning from others. Everyone is so supportive and willing to help one another, that it inspires me to do the same. It's awesome to be a part of a community of people that truly embodies the concept of " we're in this together."

Provocation with purpose is ingrained in everything we do – how do you live by this every day?
I challenge others to think of different perspectives as it relates to collaborating or putting themselves in the shoes of other team members or clients. Also ensuring that both internal teams and clients understand that data should be used as a way to inform, and a guide for change and growth so that we drive successful media campaigns.

What do you think is the most exciting thing happening in media right now?
The changing landscape of how media agencies operate. We are adapting in the workplace to the point where everyone will touch every facet of media and focus on projects where their talents along with data-first approaches will result in the most success.

What are you known for at work?
Being the person that everyone comes to for advice, whether it's about how to successfully measure the ROI of a campaign or where to go for lunch or dinner!

Who inspires you?
My mom has always been my inspiration, and she shared a piece of advice with me that I always remember: Never give up on chasing a dream, accomplishing it, and finding a new one to chase. Being someone who comes from a Latino background, I truly think that she sets a great example of strong women within our ethnic group. Which is why I'd like to call her my hero; she has provided me with so much support that gives me the drive that I need to progress in personal life, my career and be an example to other Latino women to dream big and go after what you want in life.
