Mindshare's Michelle Morgan Named Adweek’s 2022 Rising Star

Congratulations to Michelle Morgan, Director, Media Planning on being named one of Adweek’s Media All-Stars! As Adweek puts it, this list celebrates “the best of the best across the media-buying landscape.”

Michelle is recognized as Adweek’s 2022 Rising Star, for her purpose-driven work in partnership with industry leader Dove—as well as being an advocate for women and promoting intersectional diversity in the workplace through her work in Mindshare Collective, our DEI employee resource group and agency consultancy.

Here’s just one excerpt of what Adweek had to say about Michelle:

Excerpt: Morgan placed media for Dove’s #NoDigitalDistortion campaign, which was named a TikTok Top Brand Culture Driver in late 2021. The campaign, which invited women to recognize the impact of social media on their self-confidence, put Dove on the TikTok map, and the page now has more than 40,000 followers. 

“It’s about thinking creatively about ‘How do I go beyond standard placements?’ and finding ways to integrate ourselves into conversations that are happening in culture in real time,” said Morgan, who is adept at pivoting to fit the needs of women in an ever-changing climate.

Dove’s “Courage Is Beautiful” campaign, which won a Cannes Lions Grand Prix in 2021 and featured health care workers with skin indentations from long days wearing masks, required Morgan to think fast and refocus her energy on those who needed representation the most at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. While many out-of-home units were canceled amid lockdowns, the Dove team took the opposite approach and continued using out-of-home ads.

Michelle’s win follows a slew of other recent honors for Mindshare leaders and campaigns. Just last week, Mindshare and Dove/Unilever won Silver at the CLIO Music Awards, for the first ever music video created for a Nina Simone song, as part of the activations around The Crown Act. Mindshare was also recently named the #1 Media Agency Network in the WARC Media 100 rankings for the third consecutive year.
